With nothing more than a vision and a dream, Chris's father, Doug Wheat, founded Process Technology, Inc. (PTI) in 1986. From the age of 12 years old, Chris knew what his professional future held and began taking steps toward one day becoming President of PTI. His passion for the industry rapidly grew as he progressed within the ranks at PTI. Soon after obtaining an Economics Degree from the University of Utah, Chris purchased PTI from his parents in 2007 and has never looked back.
Over the years, Mr. Wheat has served on multiple industry rep councils and is currently a member of AHTD and MCAA. Chris is also a past member of Vistage, a CEO peer group. "Once you stop learning and growing, you might as well die" is a common theme within Mr. Wheat's life.
Coupled with his responsibilities as President of PTI, he also serves as Sales Manager, or as he affectionately calls it, Director of Player Personnel. Chris's primary responsibility within Process Technology is to provide a clear vision and distinct direction of PTI's future. He has always been motivated by doing the right thing. This mantra is one which guides his entire life. Chris has set some lofty goals for PTI and strongly believes that if you place the right individuals in the correct position, the positive outcome is limitless.
Chris is married and has four wonderful children. He is an avid golfer and enjoys a good ski day in the Utah mountains, especially if there is fresh powder. Chris can also be found traveling with his wife, reading a good book and continually looking for the best piece of meat to put on his smoker.
